8 BERIO (CJ202) O Doleuze XB Began nicely showed plenty of speed to take early lead, checked to travel outside leader, relaxed well in run, moved up to challenge leaving bend, took over soon at 400 M, fought strongly to defy challengers.
7 RICE FIELD (CE134) M Chadwick XB/TT Out with rest, settled 5Ls back in midfield, travelled well between horses on bend, into mix soon after straightening, kept chasing but just failed to catch winner final 50 M.
6 GRAND DANCER (CK268) J Lloyd -- Slow into stride, settled behind midfield 7Ls back in running line, travelled well but shifted back approaching bend, near last and shifted in to improve, made remarkable ground final 200 M to take place.
5 CLASSA (CK267) H W Lai -- Jumped moderately, restrained and ended up 6Ls away on rails, saved ground throughout, improved between horses turning, made very good progress in straight to narrowly miss out on place.
9 CLEMENT ELITE (CH004) Z Purton XB Reasonable break, pushed up to race 4Ls off lead in midfield, had ideal run throughout, continued to improve turning in, made steady progress along inside in straight to be nearest on line.
12 BEAUTY EXPRESS (CJ284) K T Yeung B Out with first few, tucked in to 1 out 1 back position, trailled well 2Ls off speed, no excuses to bend, challenged with eventual winner on turning, was a place chance but peaked on run inside 200 M and just held ground late.
11 SOLAR ENERGY (CJ105) B Prebble -- Standard getaway, settled 6 to 7Ls back in running line, still behind half of field on bend, shifted wider on turning in, closed to 200 M, however action shouldered late and dropped off.
13 LOCAL POWER (CH296) S K Sit -- Failed to muster, ended up 8 to 9Ls back in running line, helped by pace, shifted 3 wide on bend, came widest in straight, made some late ground from impossible spot.
10 FERRO BEAU (CG244) W C Marwing -- Taken back from widest alley, raced at rear 9Ls from top end, aided by pace, saved ground on turning, made steady progress along inside without really threatening.
4 LUMINOUS (CE300) C K Tong -- Out well, took ideal spot behind leader, used some early with pace on, still there on turning, didn't pick up when pressured and steadily weakened out.
1 WEI HAI INVINCIBLE (CH258) P H Lo CP/TT Amongst first few to break, rolled forward to take up running, set decent tempo early, held narrow lead turning, soon headed and didn't show much fight, faded final 300 M.
14 BULLISH WIN (CH197) K L Chui B/TT Began reasonably, taken back when unable to slot in, settled 3 wide 5Ls back in run, covered ground to bend, struggling on turning, gradually faded out in straight.
2 WHATABOB (CD213) C W Wong SR/TT Lost ground on jumping, mustered to race 4Ls back in running line, had fair trip although did race ungenerously, niggled on bend, found nothing in straight.
3 ENERGIZED (CK135) M L Yeung -- Fair to begin, pressed forward but trapped 3 wide without cover 1L away, used plenty to bend, drifted after turning, well beaten soon after, eased down.
