2 4 BEAR MACHO (CG152) M Chadwick -- Broke well from a wide barrier, soon snatched back to rear of midfield, commenced move turning for home, made up good ground down straight to be nearest at finish.
3 5 CANNONISE (CD377) Y T Cheng B/TT Always well there, raced one-out-one-back most of way to straight, could only keep on at the same pace without quickening under pressure in straight.
4 6 ROYAL PERICLES (CH050) W M Lai B/XB Jumped moderately, travelled in forward of midfield most of way to straight, baulked for a run 400 M out and again had to be steadied at the 200 M, fought on hard without much recovery.
5 7 VENI VEDI VICI (CJ081) J Lloyd PC/TT Fair start, settled on rails just better than midfield, turned into home straight within 3Ls of tiring leaders, but ran home one-paced.
6 12 FLYING IN (CK120) M W Leung -- Showed no early speed, niggled along towards rear, produced modest late impression inside final 200 M past well beaten horses.
7 11 SEA TREASURE (CD335) K T Yeung B/TT Began moderately, soon shuffled back to the tail-end, clear last turning in, kept on past beaten horses in the run home. (Jockey reprimanded for not riding out.)
8 9 SUPER SPIRIT (CK106) B Doyle -- Soon taken to the rear from the widest barrier, trailed the field to approaching home bend, saved ground on rails improving to forward of midfield turning in, folded up quickly.
9 3 TCHAIKOVSKY (CE030) K C Leung CP1 Ridden along from middle draw to dispute lead gaining narrow advantage around the bend, headed over 200 M out and soon died on its run.
10 8 WEI HAI INVINCIBLE (CH258) W Pike CP/TT Began awkwardly losing ground, remained struggling in last few throughout.
11 2 HONGKONG SUPERSTAR (CH167) T H So CP/TT Raced wide without cover just better than midfield far side, yielded ground from home bend.
12 10 WARRIOR (CH066) M Du Plessis TT1 Had only a fair start, gradually picked up to dispute lead most of way until top of straight, folded up quickly. (Questioned for poor performance.)
