10 THE ONLY KID (CH173) M Du Plessis H/TT1 Taken back from an outside alley ended up nearly 7Ls back 3-wide with cover, covered ground throughout, improved sharply 5 and 6 wide at 500 M, finished strongly over top of rivals final 200 M.
6 MAJESTIC HEART (CH319) B Prebble -- No early pace and drifted back from an outside draw, raced in rear division early, improved 3-wide with cover on bend, made strong finish with eventual winner but just out lasted final 200 M.
11 FIRST BEAT (CK127) D Beadman TT Average getaway, settled behind midfield racing 2-wide, 7Ls back in mid-section, held up before coming 3-wide on turning, did best work final 300 M making plenty of late ground. (Rider questioned.)
1 TOY STORY (CJ217) A Gryder SR-/B1 Lost ground early and was soon taken back, ended up a clear last 8Ls off speed, always well back to bend, closed soundly last 300 M making many lengths to take a spot in frame.
7 NILOMETER (CD052) M Chadwick CP/TT Out in line, pressed on to take closer order, was 3-wide before racing outside leader, did share of work to turn, took over and kept in mix to 200 M before run ended.
13 GLORY OF INDIA (CK130) D Whyte B/TT Fair getaway, ended up 3Ls away in front of midfield, had chance to bend, saddle shifted on turning, made gradual progress in straight with jockey at a disadvantage, lost run inside 100 M. (See Racing Incidents.)
9 GO DAN GO (CJ327) Z Purton -- Out reasonably, camped 3Ls back 3-wide behind speed, kept improving on bend, looked a place chance at 200 M but couldn't progress and just held ground thereafter.
8 VAUGIRARD (CK347) W Pike -- No early pace, settled behind midfield 5-6Ls back, had even run to bend, held up at 300 M, hung and was difficult to ride thereafter but still made good ground to be nearest on line.
3 JOHNSON (CJ305) K C Leung B Shared pace to cross to lead, set an even tempo in front, challenged on circle, headed on turning in, lacked usual fight and just struggled final 200 M.
4 NORDIC STAR (CH302) T H So B/TT Tardy into stride, settled behind midfield 5-6Ls back on rails, used little to bend, unable to find an extra gear and just kept on at same rate late.
14 SOARING RIVER (CK137) B Doyle SR Amongst first few to break, camped behind speed in 1 out 1 back spot, had every hope to bend, lacked a response when pressured and dropped off in finish.
12 BEAUTIFUL CHOICE (CH130) P H Lo TT Out well, took ideal spot on leaders back, no excuses in run, lacked a kick on turning and weakened out tamely final 300 M.
2 CASH MONEY (CH030) C W Wong B/H Away with rest, ended up 3-4Ls back on fence, had an easy time in mid-section, under hard riding turning, weakened out badly in straight.
5 KINGSGATE GLORY (CH020) J Winks B/TT Began okay, pushed on to take sit on speed, ended up 3-wide without cover on bend, challenged on turning but soon stopped and dropped right out in straight.
