2 GREAT ACHIEVEMENT (CD250) K C Leung TT Went forward from the outside barrier, set and benefitted from a slow pace upfront, ready to strike turning in, battled hard to shake off his nearest persuader and led going into 100 M, kept on well to score.
3 INTERCHINA STAR (CJ226) M Chadwick TT Handily placed in front of midfield, shuffled back to midfield entering the home turn, picked up well when clear inside 250 M to get within a neck of the winner.
11 NOBLE MAN (CC099) W M Lai -- Pushed to the front and led them along at a leisurely tempo, disputed for lead down the back straight, locked horns with the eventual winner inside 300 M, weakened final 100 M but held on for 3rd.
10 BLUE SKY (CJ289) J Lloyd PC/H One off the fence in midfield, not helped by the slow pace and unable to improve behind horses, challenged from 350 M and made good progress down the inside to be nearest at the finish.
8 DORDENMA (CE333) M L Yeung -- Soon guided to the fence and cut out the early running, held back for cover from 1100 M and raced ungenerously at times, had his chance but not matched with the winner's pace. (Jockey severely reprimanded for his riding.)
5 BROM BROM (CJ338) D Whyte -- Hampered on jumping and ended up towards the rear, not helped by the slow pace and strode forward from 600 M, covered extra ground on the turn, progressed steadily from 350 M but never any impression on the principals.
7 CONGRATS (CG298) B Prebble TT Began awkwardly, towards the rear early, pushed wide on entering the back straight and from 600 M strode forward to be alongside leader, not quicken inside final 350 M.
4 FLUKE (CJ061) H W Lai -- Parked 3-wide in mid-division, not suited by the slow tempo, sandwiched between horses early in straight, not clear until 200 M, ran on. (Jockey questioned regarding his riding in straight.)
6 WINNING REWARD (CE254) Y T Cheng B Given a waiting ride in the rear and was about 6Ls off the pace, had plenty to do turning in and made only very limited progress down the inside, never a factor.
12 WHATABOB (CD213) C W Wong SR/TT Settled in a 3-wide position better than midfield, hampered by the slow pace and raced without cover throughout, under pressure from 500 M, kept on same pace in straight.
1 WATCH WHAT HAPPENS (CH145) W C Marwing -- Lost ground at the start, towards the rear always, badly hampered by the slow pace and was unable to settle, couldn't quicken in straight and weakened over final 200 M.
9 REAL SPECIAL (CH320) G Cheyne XB- Heled up in mid-division, badly hampered by the slow pace, checked and blundered near 850 M, switched wide for a clear path inside 400 M but soon running on empty.
