1 4 WASABISABI (CJ221) B Prebble B Took up a prominent position early before being crowded near the 800 M and taking a sit behind the speed. Commenced a forward move at the half way point and gave plenty under pressure, winning easily.
2 8 FAIR NAVIGATOR (CJ254) Z Purton B/TT Showed plenty of dash from barrier rise to cross to the outside section of the track. Didn't have much peace in front but kicked nicely to steal a break near the 400 M. Tried hard but couldn't match the winner.
3 1 GOLDEN BAUHINIA (CK123) O Doleuze -- Was bumped out of the machines but picked up well to travel on the back of the leaders. Shifted in to continue its run near the 300 M and maintained a sound gallop right to the wire.
4 3 EXTRA SPECIAL (CJ213) J Lloyd CP Slow to begin and was soon at the tail of the field. Closed off soundly despite experiencing some traffic problems near the 300 M.
5 14 NEW IDEA (CK007) M W Leung CP Scrubbed along early to maintain a midfield position 3 off the outside fence with cover. Kept on at the same pace over the latter stages.
6 12 BLESS US ALL (CK086) T H So B/XB Travelled midfield with cover. Switched to the inside near the 300 M and plugged away one paced to the finish.
7 2 CLASSIC NAVIGATOR (CD330) W M Lai TT Raced on the outside fence on the back of the speed. Was crowded near the 800 M, but couldn't accelerate when called upon near the 300 M.
8 10 STAR LEGEND (CJ233) Y T Cheng H1 Worked forward and quickly came across from the gates towards the outside and raced as joint leader for some distance thereafter. Faded over the final furlong.
9 5 COMPACT YARN (CK377) H W Lai -- Raced towards the rear, about 3 off the outside rail with cover. Failed to show any dash when pressured midrace and gave ground in the run to the post.
10 6 JUMBO GOLD (CK393) W C Marwing -- Travelled behind midfield against the outside rail before copping a check near the 800 M. Never recovered from that point on. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 7 THINK BIG (CK295) C W Wong TT1 Slow to begin then showed good gate speed to race prominently. Suffered a check near the 850 M but rallied to stay in touch with the leaders, weakened over the concluding stages.
12 11 DUEL EXPRESS (CJ299) W Pike -- Positioned with the backmakers near the centre of the course. Struggled in the run home.
13 9 TIBIDABO (CK008) M L Yeung CP Raced close to midfield towards the outside fence. Received a check approaching the 800 M and was not likely thereafter.
14 13 JUNGLE TREASURE (CJ277) K C Leung -- Positioned on the middle of the track around midfield. Was quickly beaten off over the final 400 M.
