Cliffs Of Moher 

A slightly unlucky fourth in this last year, unable to recover after early interference. He's won a G2 at Naas on slow ground since but was quite well beaten in both G1 and G2 company at Royal Ascot last month. More chance of a place than a win.

Forest Ranger

Stronger and better this season, and he's won both 2018 starts. Booked in for this G1 challenge since beating four rivals in a G2 over a little further than this at Chester in May, a career best. Worth a crack at this big prize. Tends to sit close to the pace.

Hawkbill

Despite a problem at the gates he had the perfect trip in front when winning a G1 at Meydan in March. However he has struggled since and was sweaty beforehand and never comfortable in a G1 at Royal Ascot last month. May try front-running again. He won this on soft ground in 2016.

Masar

Confirmed the impression of a brilliant G3 win at Newmarket in April with a widely unexpected victory in the Derby at Epsom last month, always travelling well. Now steps back in distance from the 2405m of Britain's premier G1 down to this 1990m with a very big chance.

Raymond Tusk

An ambitious target for a colt who has only won a maiden. That came over 1600m on slow ground at Newbury. Then ran second in a stronger event over this distance on quick ground at Newmarket, leading for much of the way. This looks very tough.

Roaring Lion

One of Europe's leading two-year-old's and now enjoying an excellent three-year-old career, winning a fast-ground G2 at York in May and then when 2L third to Masar in The Derby at Epsom. That 2405m trip was probably further than he wanted and this 1990m trip should be ideal.

Saxon Warrior

Confirmed a huge reputation when winning his first four starts - the last two G1's including a stylish display in the 2000 Guineas (1600m) at Newmarket in May. His status has taken a bit of a battering when a beaten favourite in both the Derby at Epsom (4th) and the Irish Derby (3rd) at The Curragh. This drop back to 1990m may well help.

Happily

This tough filly was twice a G1 winner as a two-year-old, though both on slower ground than is expected here. Third in both the English and Irish 1000 Guineas on her first two starts this season and then a close fourth in another G1, at Chantilly, proving she could handle this distance.
