Contrail

The unbeaten 2019 JRA champion 2YO colt will resume from a three-month break. Won the G3 Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes (1800m) in a JRA 2YO record time last November, followed by a comfortable 1.5L win over Weltreisende in the G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) at Nakayama last out.  Plenty of potential. Races handily. All starts on firm.

L’Excellence

One of the horses in the field who is unbeaten in three starts. Won gamely last time out in the Listed Sumire Stakes (2200m) at Hanshin on 1 March. Stays farther and runs on strongly from deep.

Cortesia

Two wins at 1800m from six starts. Started off the term with a 3rd in the G3 Shinzan Kinen (1600m) in January and dueled out to win the G3 Kisaragi Sho (1800m) in February last out. Untested at the distance. Versatile and no ground issues.

Tempin

Just one start for a win (2000m) at Chukyo last December. Raced handily.

Satono Flag

A 178 million yen yearling out of the the 2017 JRHA Select Sale.  Showed brilliant turn-of-foot for his third win on the bounce, in the G2 Yayoi Sho (2000m) by 1.75L on a rain affected track at Nakayama on 8 March last time out. Races midfield or further.

Deep Bond

One win at 2000m from four outings. Finished 6th in a lower-class stakes race (2000m) at Kyoto in January and solid 2nd in the same class (2400m) at Hanshin on 4 April last time out. Races close to the speed. No ground issues.

Salios

Unbeaten in three starts at 1600m. Took the G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup with a 2YO track record last October and gained a deserved G1 in the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes by 2.5L last time. Attempts 2000m for the first time. Tends to race handily.

Win Carnelian

Took his second win from seven starts in an allowance race (1800m, turf) at Nakayama on 28 March latest. All wins and two seconds on firm and good. Likely races on speed or sits handily.

Black Hole

Winner of the G3 Sapporo Nisai Stakes (1800m) last August. No match to Contrail when 9th in the G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) but solid 4th to Satono Flag in the G2 Yayoi Sho (2000m) latest. Hold-up runner. No track worries.

American Seed

Won 1800m on turf by 0.75L at Hanshin last December and consistent at this distance with two seconds and one third in three outings. Tends to race close to the pace. All starts on firm.

Crystal Black

Unbeaten in two starts. Showed plenty of potential with his late burst in the stretch for a half-length win in the G3 Keisei Hai (2000m) at the course and distance in January latest.  Tested on firm and good.

My Rhapsody

Third straight win in the G3 Kyoto Nisai Stakes (2000m) last November. Kicked off this term with a 4th place in the G3 Kyodo News Service Hai (1800m) in February. Settles back for a finish. Tested only on firm and good.

Darlington Hall

Placed in all four outings with two wins at 1800m and two thirds. Godolphin’s highly-regarded 3YO colt showed guts to nose out Bitterender in the 1800m G3 Kyodo News Service Hai at Tokyo in February latest. Races better than midfield or sits handily. All starts on firm and good.

Chimera Verite

Two wins including the JPN G3 Hokkaido Nisai Yushun (1800m) from 6 outings on dirt. Shifted to turf for the first time when a fine 2L 2nd in the Listed Wakaba Stakes (2000m) at Hanshin on 21 March last out. Usually leads but versatile.

Rhinebeck

Two wins at 1600m in 5 starts. Decent 4th to Contrail in the G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) in December and he started off this term with a 2L 3rd in the Listed Wakagoma Stakes (2000m) at Kyoto in January last out.  Sits handily. No ground worries.

Galore Creek

Disappointing 11th in the G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) but won decisively in the 1800m G2 Spring Stakes at Nakayama on 22 March last time out. Two wins at 1800m and 2000m in 4 career starts. Usually races behind midfield. All starts on firm.

Weltreisende

Two wins at 1800m in four outings. Consistent runner-up at top level in the G1 Hopeful Stakes (2000m) last December and the G2 Spring Stakes (1800m) at Nakayama latest. A half-brother to 2012 Satsuki Sho 2nd World Ace and last year’s G1 Kikuka Sho (3000m) winner World Premiere. Races handily.  No track worries.

Bitterender

Never missed the board in 4 starts but only one win over 2000m at Tokyo last November. Started off the term with 4th to Crystal Black in the G3 Keisei Hai (2000m) in January and close 2nd to Darlington Hall in the G3 Kyodo News Service Hai (1800m) on 16 February.
