King's Stand Stakes S1 - 3, 15/06/2021, Tuesday Post Time 22:40
1 |
Arecibo |
In good form this season but well beaten in a G3 race last month and looks out of his depth. |
2 |
Battaash |
A sprinting star with a string of top level successes to his name, including in this race last year. Very fast and very good, a worthy favourite. |
3 |
Extravagant Kid |
Talented US-trained 8-y-o, close fourth in Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. Won G1 at Meydan in March. This is a new, tough challenge. |
4 |
Harry’s Bar |
A multiple winner but has never won nor run above Listed level. This is a big step up. An unlikely winner. |
5 |
King’s Lynn |
Lightly raced 4-y-o. Progressed well to win Listed race last month. Needs another big step forward. |
6 |
Maven |
Trained in US by Wesley Ward, who won this race with Lady Aurelia in 2017. Maven arrives with a less impressive record. |
7 |
Ornate |
A multiple winning 8-y-o but out of his depth here. |
8 |
Oxted |
Won G1 July Cup at Newmarket last year and close up fifth in G1 Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot but both were over 1200m. Respectable third in G2 over 1200m last month. Needs to be at his best. |
9 |
Stone Of Destiny |
A good, solid sprinter but this 6-y-o does not have the form to compete with the best here. |
10 |
Glamorous Anna |
Improved last year but looks out of her depth. |
11 |
Keep Busy |
Behind stablemate Liberty Beach on return last month but only narrowly beaten in G1 in Ireland last year and also ran well in G1 Prix de l’Abbaye. A live outsider. |
12 |
Liberty Beach |
A free going horse capable of high class performances. Third in this last year and later close third in G1 Prix de l’Abbaye. Likely to put up a good display. |
13 |
Que Amoro |
Ran her best race when second to Battaash in G1 Nunthorpe Stakes last year, which puts her in the picture. |
14 |
Acklam Express |
Just behind Extravagant Kid and Final Song in G1 at Meydan but sweated up badly before finishing last when favourite on reappearance. Mustn’t repeat that. |
15 |
Ubettabelieveit |
3-y-o won G2 at Doncaster and excellent third in Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint last year but last on return in G3 in France in April. A big challenge. |
16 |
Winter Power |
A fast and exciting 3-y-o filly. Never raced beyond 1000m. Improved markedly last year and impressive when winning a Listed race at York last month. A live contender. |
