Armory |
Keeps running super races at the very top level, placed in G1's in Europe and Australia. Gave the impression that a G1 win was near when an impressive G2 winner at Chester last month, needing no jockey pressure. |
2 |
Desert Encounter |
A 12-times winner, and some fine placed efforts over the past year often when underestimated in the betting including when runner-up in a Sandown G3 this year. But this looks very hard. |
3 |
Lord North |
The likely favourite for a G1 that this classy gelding won decisively last year. Needs a break between races and has had that since another decisive G1 victory - at Meydan in March. Versatile groundwise. |
4 |
My Oberon |
A lightly-raced big horse who takes plenty of work to get fit. He should be spot on for this after his close third in a Longchamp G1 last month. Up to this distance for the first time. |
5 |
Sangarius |
Impressive acceleration saw him win a soft-ground G3 over this trip at Royal Ascot last year. Twice second in small fields this year, but does not really look about to win a G1 like this. |
6 |
Audarya |
The fact that this Newmarket-trained mare won G1's in France (Deauville) and USA (Keeneland) on totally contrasting ground in 2020 shows her talent and versatility. But this may be too ambitious on her 2021 return. |
7 |
Love |
This tremendous filly was unbeaten in 2020, winning three G1's by a total of more than 18L. She missed the Arc due to the deep ground but is apparently easy to get fit and will be fancied for yet another G1 win, on this 2021 return. |
