High class sprinter beaten a head in this race in both 2019 and 2020. Beat Garrus when winning three runner Listed race on return last month. Acts on fast ground but prefers softer. A decent chance.

Emaraaty Ana

Well behind on all four G1 runs and behind some of today’s opponents in G2 event last month. Not good enough.

Garrus

Smart but record indicates is not up to this level and has never won above Listed grade. Readily beaten by Dream Of Dreams last month. An unlikely winner.

Glen Shiel

Memorable victory in last year’s G1 Champions Sprint Stakes over course and distance. Slightly disappointing return last month. Likely to find it tough, especially if ground fast.

Happy Power

Done most of racing and winning over 1400m and has won over 1600m. First run over 1200m since 2018 when respectable but well beaten run in G1 Champions Sprint last year. An unlikely winner.

Nahaarr

5-y-o. Improved last year and fine effort stepped up to G2 last month when narrowly beaten by Starman with some of today’s rivals well behind. A decent chance.

Trained in Germany where won four G3 races. Well behind Dream Of Dreams over 1400m in G2 at Newbury last year. An unlikely winner.

Royal Commando

Respectable fourth at 250-1 in last year’s G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Won Listed race on reappearance in March. Needs to improve to be involved.

Starman

Lightly raced 4-y-o. Progressive last year until disappointed in G1 Champions Sprint Stakes on soft ground. Returned with narrow victory over Nahaarr in G2 last month. A good chance.

Summerghand

7-y-o. Prolific winner. Good record at Ascot but at lower level. Well held fourth behind Starman and Nahaarr in G2 at York last month. A tough task.

Ventura Rebel

Fine record at Ascot including third in last year’s G1 Commonwealth Cup. Well beaten behind Starman in G2 at York last month. Needs to improve.

Final Song

Successful spell at Meydan this year but well behind on return in G2 at York last month. Too big a task.

Won G3 at the Curragh this month. Well beaten in G1 Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot last year. Needs to improve.
