Muito Obrigado |
Not tasted any success for two years. Finished below par in six runs this term. Not good enough for this. |
2 |
Contrail |
Last year’s unbeaten triple crown winner has not landed in the winner’s circle but finished inside top three in two starts this term - hampered by the heavy ground and finished 3rd in the G1 Osaka Hai (2000m) in April and showed the fastest time over the last 600m and ran 2nd in the G1 Tenno Sho Autumn (2000m) last out. |
3 |
Broome |
Raced consistently this term including all-the-way victory in the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (2400m) in July. Bounced back his form from disappointing 11th in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (2400m) when running well 2nd in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf (2400m) last out. |
4 |
Shahryar |
Claimed his first G1 title in the Japanese Derby in May but did not show his run over the soft ground when 4th in the G2 Kobe Shimbun Hai (2200m) on his return last out. |
5 |
Kiseki |
The 7-year-old looks for his first win since the G1 Japanese St. Leger in 2017. Bounced back from disappointing 12th in the Arima Kinen and finished in top five this term. Finished well 3rd in the latest G2 Kyoto Daishoten (2400m) in October. |
6 |
Grand Glory |
The French-trained 5-year-old mare has shown her consistency, missing the top three only once in six starts this term. Scored her first G1 title in the Prix Jean Romanet (2000m) in August. |
7 |
Authority |
Returned from six-month break due to injury but defend the title with 8 lbs heavier than last year’s weight at 2500m-G2 on 7 Nov. Will contest the finish. |
8 |
Windjammer |
Not raced on turf since last June. Showed consistency over dirt this term, finishing inside top three in 6 starts from 7 runs. Won the 3-win class (1600m, dirt) last month. |
9 |
Aristoteles |
Last year’s Japanese St. Leger runner-up. Took his first graded stakes success at G2 as his seasonal bow. No luck running when 9L 9th in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen (2200m) in June. Good effort when 2nd on his return in the G2 Kyoto Daishoten (2400m) latest. |
10 |
Lord My Way |
Not well enough in eight runs this term. A tough task for this. |
11 |
Shadow Diva |
Showed upward curve this term with 2 thirds at G3 and first graded race win in the G2 Fuchu Himba Stakes (1800m) last month. Raced consistently at Tokyo, finishing inside top three for nine times in 12 runs. |
12 |
Sanrei Pocket |
First and much-awaited win at graded stakes in May. Ran way better than his long odds when fourth in the latest G1 Tenno Sho Autumn (2000m). Surprise if he wins this time. |
13 |
Mozu Bello |
This year’s G1 Osaka Hai (2000m) runner-up. However so far he failed to show his same flair in the recent 3 runs. |
14 |
Uberleben |
Marked her first G1 title in the Japanese Oaks (2400m) in May. Disappointing out of frame on her return in the G1 Shuka Sho (2000m), the final leg of the filly’s Triple Crown last month. |
15 |
Makahiki |
The 8-year-old finished below par in this race last year. Bounced back his form and fought hard to land the latest G2 Kyoto Daishoten (2400m) in October. Reportedly good in shape. |
16 |
You Can Smile |
Delivered his staying power when 2nd at G2 (3000m) early this term but less good in two G1s and one G2 since. |
17 |
Wagnerian |
2018 Japanese Derby winner. Showed upward curve when 3rd in the 2019 Japan Cup but not good enough since. |
18 |
Japan |
Showed good effort when a neck 2nd in the G1 Sword Dancer Stakes (2400m) and 3.5L fourth in the latest G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf (2400m). |
