Kranji Mile S1 - 7, 21/05/2022, Saturday Post Time 16:30
1 |
Lim’s Lightning |
Top class galloper who should be a big improver second-up off a lengthy five-month break. Only narrowly beaten in this race last year after doing the hard work on-pace and expect him to be hard to beat again. |
2 |
Katak |
Talented five-year-old South Africa import who continues to improve and can be forgiven for his last-start failure as he pulled up with lacerated legs. Turned in an excellent trial since and looks primed for sharp improvement. |
3 |
Lim’s Kosciuszko |
Smart four-year-old whose winning streak of eight-from-eight came to an end last start when beaten 0.75 lengths into second place but was far from disgraced. He can measure up at his first G1 attempt here. |
4 |
Hard Too Think |
Quality staying five-year-old who ran a slashing third place first-up off his second in the Gold Cup in November last year. Though most effective over further than the mile, his class brings him right in this. |
5 |
Jupiter Gold |
Former 2018 Derby winner who has been plagued by injury and has not won for 1352 days, however he ran an improved race last start when finishing strongly late into seventh. |
6 |
Gold Star |
Relishing racing this season, with one win and two second placings from four outings, but at set weights over the mile here, he seems unsuited. |
7 |
Mr Malek |
Has endured a decent preparation leading into the feature race, fourth-up and rising to the mile where he is a two-time winner from three at the track and distance. A win would surprise, but a place wouldn’t. |
8 |
Fame Star |
Looks outclassed here but he is a pace influence and will be applying pressure, potentially, to Lim’s Lightning and Lim’s Kosciuszko. |
9 |
Minister |
Winner of this race last year, but has failed to find a spot in the placings since, however he turned in an eye-catching run last start to suggest he’s returning to form at the right time. |
10 |
Sacred Croix |
Had excuses last start when pulling up lame but G1 at set weights look an uphill task for him and others are preferred. |
11 |
Top Knight |
Former G1 star who has gone off the boil and has now not won for 567 days. He needs to find best form, but that seems unattainable. |
12 |
King’s Command |
Thriving five-year-old, after winning his last two starts over 1400m impressively, but who faces his biggest test at set weights and in G1 company. |
13 |
Spirit Of Big Bang |
Goes well at the mile but at set weights in a G1, he looks outclassed here. |
14 |
Heartening Flyer |
Handy five-year-old who has decent form lines around the likes of Katak but at set weights, he is unsuited and would have to improve. |
15 |
Trumpy |
Faces a tough ask at G1 level and at set weights and he would need to improve big-time to feature. |
16 |
Circuit Mission |
Seven-year-old who has been in sensational form this year, winning once and placing twice in three starts, though this is by far his biggest test so far. |

17 |
Tangible |
Outclassed here and hard to recommend. Needs it easier. |
18 |
Elite Incredible |
Hard to catch this six-year-old but he has G1 form to potentially surprise for a place when at best. |
19 |
Strong N Best |
Outclassed on a rating of 73 at WFA and not here. |
