King's Stand Stakes S1 - 3, 14/06/2022, Tuesday Post Time 22:40

1

Acklam Express

A small horse who was placed in a Meydan G1 last year but has failed to win on his last ten starts.

2

Arecibo

An outsider but he was also an outsider when runner-up in this G1 last year. Supporters will hope for another big Ascot show.

3

Equilateral

Briefly threatened in this G1 dash back in 2019, finishing second in 2020. Twice a sprinting winner at Meydan in early 2021 and, though off the track for 444 days, he's got a good record fresh.

4

Existent

Came close to winning a G3 sprint at Newmarket in April but facts and figures suggest that his winning chance is not strong here.

5

Golden Pal

Blistering from the gates this speedster has easily mopped up some big US sprint prizes on his last three starts. Purely on figures he looks clearly faster than the Europeans though he has been beaten - once narrowly - on his only two UK runs.

6

Khaadem

Although quirky his speed and talent shone through when - though racing too freely and running out of gas late on - he was still able to cling on to victory in a G3 sprint at Newmarket last time.

7

King’s Lynn

This 1000m should suit this progressive speedster who just held on to win a G2 sprint at Haydock last month. That was a career best run.

8

Lazuli

Six career sprinting wins though this is his first start at Ascot. Last seen when racing too keenly but still having enough speed to justify favouritism in a G2 at Meydan in February.

9

Logo Hunter

Probably his best effort so far was winning a soft-ground sprint at Naas last year, but his trainer thinks he's better on a fast surface. Another good run at Naas last time.

10

Man Of Promise

His last six starts were at Meydan and includes a runaway victory of a 1200m G3. However this is his first start at 1000m, so the issue is whether he will be quite quick enough.

11

Mondammej

His three turf wins have been handicaps on fast ground, and, though he wasn't beaten far in a G2 at Haydock last time, he probably won't be fast enough for this challenge.

12

Nature Strip

Australia's favourite speedster is a veteran but his recent third consecutive victory in a famous 1200m Randwick G1 last time suggests he is as fast as ever. Expect to see him fly from the gates on this exciting debut in the UK.

13

Ponntos

With gate speed, this Eastern European-trained sprinter has proved himself capable against the best especially when outspeeding his rivals from the front in a Longchamp G3 last month.

14

Saint Lawrence

His best starts so far have come after a break so the fact that he was in action at Chantilly earlier this month might not be an advantage. Others preferred.

15

Tis Marvellous

Ran a good fourth in this in 2020 and two subsequent wins over this course and distance confirm his liking for Ascot. But he's a veteran now and probably won't be quite fast enough.

16

Twilight Calls

A blistering pace is expected and that will suit this speedster whilst fast ground would also be a big plus. Almost won a G2 at Haydock last time, a good omen.

17

Mooneista

Not very big but a determined speedster, as she has shown when coming close to victory in all starts this year, including a G2 at The Curragh last month, a career best performance.

18

Winter Power

Well fancied for this last year but, much too keen, ran disappointingly. Much more relaxed later in 2021 at York, she deservedly won a G1 sprint. Very talented but hard to predict.
