Promising the Orfevre sired horse who scored runner-up to Contrail in last year’s Japan Cup (2400m) before winning at G3 Neom Turf Cup (2100m) in Riyadh and ran 3rd in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic (2410m). The right-handed course will be a key.

African Gold

The 7-year-old by Stay Gold still showed his class with after wire-to-wire victory at G2 over 2200m in February for his first win since 2019. Remained in contention up to 200m pole but finished 7th in the latest G1 Osaka Hai (2000m).

Melody Lane

6-year-old mare by Orfevre and a half sister to Titleholder.  Won the 3-win class over 3000m last autumn but finished below par in recent three runs. Softish going will be liking.

Efforia

The Horse of the Year of 2021. The G1 Satsuki Sho (2000m) winner claimed the G1 Tenno Sho Autumn (2000m) and G1 Arima Kinen (2500m) last term. Not justified his favoritism in the latest G1 Osaka Hai (2000m) when finished disappointing 9th. All has been under controlled so far.

Iron Barows

Four-time winner at 2000m and 2400m. Yet to win at the graded class but brave 2nd in two marathon races at G2. 5th in the G1 Tenno Sho Spring (3200m) last out. Races versatile.

Titleholder

Has shown his great ability since winning the G1 Kikuka Sho (3000m) by 5L. Will be suited by step back to 2200m after getting wire-to-wire 7L win over 3200m in the G1 Tenno Sho Spring.

Daring Tact

Unbeaten winner of Triple Tiara 2020.  Finished 3.5L 6th in her first-up off over one-year break at 1600m last out, so good run wouldn’t surprise.

Stay Foolish

Travelled to Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Dubai in four months and took two wins in the G3 Red Sea Turf Handicap (3000m) and G2 Dubai Gold Cup (3200m). Dropping down to 2200m is a query.

Meiner Fanrong

Brave 6th over 3200m at Hanshin in the latest G1 Tenno Sho Spring. Will be suited by stepping back to 2200m and no ground issues.

Hishi Iguazu

Showed effort but failed to threaten winners at G1. Good form. 1.3L fourth in the latest G1 Osaka Hai on his return from 4-month break. Chances for placing.

Panthalassa

First up since the dead-heat win with Lord North in the G1 Dubai Turf. Showed consistency with 4 wins from recent 5 starts. Leads.

Win Marilyn

Three-time winner at G2 and runner-up in the G1 Japanese Oaks (2400m) in 2020. No match for the winners in the last two runs. Need big improvement to feature here.

Arrivo

Finished inside top three in nine starts between 1800m and 2200m. Well close 3rd in the latest G1 Osaka Hai (2000m).  No ground worries.

King Of Koji

The winner over 2200m and 2500m at G2. Never fired in the G1 Osaka Hai when 11th last out, but keeps good form.

Deep Bond

Runner-up to Efforia in the G1 Arima Kinen (2500m) defended the title in the G2 Hanshin Daishoten (3000m) and showed strong late charge to finish second in the G1 Tenno Sho Spring (3200m).  No worries over 2200m.

Gloria Mundi

Four consecutive wins over dirt from 1800m and 2400m before a half-length runner-up at G3 over 1800m dirt latest.  First run over turf since last autumn may be a query.

Gibeon

Winless since last March, but showed upward curve in three starts this term. No worries for the stretching out to 2200m. Prefers a bit softer ground.

Potager

Upset the strong field and took his first G1 title in the Osaka Hai (2000m) last out. Has credentials over the distance and no track worries.
