Grosser Preis von Baden S1 - 8, 03/09/2023, Sunday Post Time 21:20
Fantastic Moon |
Strong chance on ratings. Proved himself formidable when easily beating 19 rivals in the G1 German Derby at Hamburg despite having to make ground wide. Back to an ideal trip after a second in a 2000m G1 at Munich. |
|
Kassada |
An easy G3 winner at Hoppegarten in May, and two near misses since latterly in Dusseldorf’s G1 German Oaks – looking sure to win when 3L clear 300m out but just caught on the soft ground. |
|
Mr Hollywood |
Asserted late on to win a 2000m heavy-ground G3 at Munich in May, performing at least as well when second of 20 in the G1 German Derby at Hamburg in July. A live contender. |
|
Quantanamera |
The runaway winner of a soft-ground 1600m G3 at Baden-Baden last October, but has not really progressed over longer trips this year. Will need to improve on her G1 fifth at Dusseldorf last time. |
|
Sisfahan |
In top form in recent starts, a close second in a G2 and an even closer second in a G1 at Hoppegarten last month, latterly with first and second dominant over the rest. This trip ideal. Good chance. |

Straight |
Outstanding effort was when swooping late and surging clear in a good-ground G2 over 2200m at Koln in June. Very poor efforts when favourite for the German Derby, and again at Deauville. |
|
Zagrey |
A talented and consistent French-trained colt who seems even better now he has moved up to this trip, only finding classy Westover too strong in a Saint-Cloud G1 in July. Best chance on soft ground. |
