Prix Maurice de Gheest S2 - 4, 04/08/2024, Sunday Post Time 22:07

1

Saint Lawrence

Fifth in G3 company at Deauville last month. Third last year to King Gold on soft ground.

2

Mill Stream

Last month's G1 July Cup winner at Newmarket will be hard to beat on that form. Won twice at track last year.

3

Khaadem

Won over 1200m in a G1 at Royal Ascot (Mill Stream third). Looking to bounce back from disappointing effort latest start when 10th of 11 behind Mill Stream at Newmarket.

4

Shouldvebeenaring

Notched up his sixth career win at Deauville in G3 company last month. Tough and talented. One for the shortlist.

5

King Gold

Last year's winner. Lines up in good shape after repeating his 2023 win in a G3 at ParisLongchamp. Tougher opposition this time but should run well.

6

Game Run

Last of 11 behind Shouldvebeenaring on latest start. Place hopes on the strength of his G2 win over 1000m at Chantilly last season.

7

Matilda Picotte

Irish-trained four-year-old filly took third in G1 1000 Guineas last year. Ready to strike again after two starts in 2024.

8

Exxtra

Very capable French-based filly with a G3 win over 1400m and two seconds this term. Scored in listed company over 1200m at the track last season.

9

Beauvatier

Supplemented after confirming his promise and speed when finishing third in last month's G1 Prix Jean Prat over 1400m.

10

Lazzat

Out to make it six wins from six starts in 2024. The last two came at G3 level. First attempt at this higher level.

11

Puchkine

In top shape and seeking a second G1 at Deauville after landing last month's Prix Jean Prat (1400m).

12

Bellano

Scored over 1400m at Compiegne in April. First run since a listed win over 1400m at ParisLongchamp in May.

13

Havana Cigar

Finished two and a half lengths back in second behind his stablemate Puchkine last month in the G1 Prix Jean Prat over 1400m.

14

Flora Of Bermuda

Supplemented on the back of her G3 success at York in July over 1200m. A progressive filly and clearly on the upgrade.

15

Classic Flower

Admirably consistent with three runners-up finishes in group and listed class this term. Ran well in fifth in G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot on last start.

16

Great Generation

Finished fourth on heavy ground in a French 1000 Guineas trial at the track in April. Has won a G3 over 1400m in England and just missed out on a place in a G3 since.
