Racing Incident Report
OPTIC CHIEF began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. CUPID was slow to begin. At the 2300 Metres, NATURAL ECHO, which was initially shifting in, was then straightened, got its head up, shifted out abruptly and caused inconvenience to OPTIC CHIEF and TWEET. Near the 1600 Metres, DRAGON WIN was steadied away from the heels of CHINESE KID. PEARL AND GOLD, which was following, was steadied in consequence. At the 1500 Metres, due mainly to the pace, TWEET proved difficult to settle, shifted to the outside of NATURAL ECHO, then after the 1400 Metres was allowed to stride forward to join the lead to avoid remaining racing wide without cover. On straightening, NATURAL ECHO became unbalanced when bumped by ALLEZ ALLEZ which shifted to the outside of OPTIC CHIEF to obtain clear runnning and improve. Over the concluding stages, CUPID shifted out. DRAGON WIN was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. Following the race, DRAGON WIN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. An endoscopic examination showed the horse to have a significant amount of blood and mucus in the trachea. Before being permitted to race again, DRAGON WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MONZA KING, CUPID and VENETIAN MASTER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted ALLEZ ALLEZ had lost its left front plate.
