Racing Incident Report
The Stewards today interviewed Mr A T Millard, the trainer of ZHI YOU SPIRIT, second Standby Declared Starter, as to the circumstances regarding the horse being mistakenly treated last Thursday morning. ZHI YOU SPIRIT was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Mr Millard was found by the Stewards to be in breach of Rule 50(2) in that he was negligent in the running of his stable. Mr Millard was fined $20,000. POWER TICKER and SUPER LUCK were slow to begin. Making the turn after the 800 Metres, COURAGEOUSHEART hung out. Near the 700 Metres, LIFELINE RAPIDE, which was racing outside DANNY BOY and being carried wider by that horse, was steadied and taken back to avoid being taken further out. Throughout the race, DANNY BOY hung out badly and making the Home Turn ran to the outside fence. Before being allowed to race again, DANNY BOY will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. DANNY BOY was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. After the race, DANNY BOY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. DRAGON AND GOLD and BULB KING were sent for sampling.
