Racing Incident Report

FUN CRUISER had an adjustment made to its left hind plate in the saddling stalls. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to DIAMITZ was replaced. KING OF TURBOT was slow to begin and then on jumping began awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall. On jumping, BRILLIANT EXPRESS was crowded for room between DIAMITZ which shifted out and ESPRIT D'OR which shifted in. Also on jumping, BEAMING RIVER was crowded for room between MILLION CHASE and GOLDEN GALLOPER, both of which began awkwardly and shifted ground. Shortly after the start, BRILLIANT EXPRESS and ESPRIT D'OR were checked when crowded for room between DIAMITZ which shifted out further and GOLDEN GALLOPER which was carried in by BEAMING RIVER. No action was taken. Near the 1000 Metres, GOLDEN GALLOPER was bumped by BEAMING RIVER which got its head on the side and shifted in momentarily. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, GOLDEN GALLOPER became unbalanced and shifted out while hanging. As a consequence of this, BEAMING RIVER was carried wider. After this, GOLDEN GALLOPER continued to hang out making the Home Turn. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, MILLION CHASE got its head on the side and hung in. On straightening, ISLAND SPIRIT was steadied and shifted out when awkwardly placed on the heels of BEAMING RIVER which itself was carried out at this time by MILLION CHASE. Shortly after straightening, MAIN ATTRACTION was steadied away from the heels of FUN CRUISER. After the 200 Metres, BRILLIANT EXPRESS, which was closing the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted to the outside of BRAVE COMMANDER to obtain clear running. Near the 100 Metres, MAIN ATTRACTION, which had been for a short distance held up for running, was steadied when crowded for room between MILLION CHASE which shifted in slightly and GOLDEN GALLOPER which shifted out away from FUN CRUISER. No action was taken. For the major part of the race, KING OF TURBOT hung in. ELETTARIN, BRILLIANT EXPRESS and MILLION CHASE were sent for sampling.
