Racing Incident Report
After arriving at the Start, B Prebble, the rider of GOOD TRIO, expressed concern over the horse's action. GOOD TRIO was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, trotted up and after the necessary consultations was passed suitable to race. On jumping, CLASSIC KING shifted in and bumped ALL CHANCES. At the start, FORTUNE WARRIOR was crowded for room between BRAVERY LUCK which shifted out slightly and BRAVE COMMANDER which began awkwardly and shifted in. KING OF SPADES began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped BOREAS. As a consequence, KING OF SPADES lost ground. Near the 1300 Metres, KING OF FIELD got its head on the side, shifted in away from ACCELERATION, clipped the heels of FORTUNE WARRIOR, blundered and almost fell. Near the 700 Metres, ACCELERATION was steadied away from the heels of FANTASTIC WIN. In the early part of the Straight, ALL CHANCES hung out. After the 400 Metres, BOREAS, which was commencing to give ground, was bumped, hampered and carried wider by GOOD TRIO which at this time shifted to the outside of BRAVE COMMANDER to obtain clear running. For some distance after the 400 Metres, BRAVERY LUCK, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted out to find clear running. FORTUNE WARRIOR, which was following BRAVERY LUCK, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse for some distance. When questioned, C Brown (CENTURY SUPER STAR) said the horse travelled three wide and without cover throughout the race. He said in his opinion he would have been required to make too much use of CENTURY SUPER STAR to cross to the lead on the fence. He said CENTURY SUPER STAR travelled satisfactorily until the 500 Metres when he commenced to place the horse under some pressure, however, it failed to quicken and kept on only one-paced until about the 300 Metres. He said after the 300 Metres CENTURY SUPER STAR commenced to give ground. He said following the race CENTURY SUPER STAR stumbled, but did not appear to be sore. CENTURY SUPER STAR was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of CENTURY SUPER STAR was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CENTURY SUPER STAR will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BRAVE COMMANDER, ALL CHANCES and FORTUNE WARRIOR were sent for sampling.
