Racing Incident Report

SILLY BOY was slow to begin. On jumping, LUCKY GUYS was bumped by TRIUMPHANT GLORY which shifted out. As a consequence, LUCKY GUYS became unbalanced and lost ground. GOOD TO GREAT began awkwardly, got its head up, then shifted out and made contact with CROWNED GEM. Near the 1000 Metres, FAST TRACK was steadied away from the heels of SILLY BOY which at this time shifted to the outside of HAPPY WINNING. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, FAST TRACK, which was awkwardly placed inside BRAVE KNIGHT, bumped the running rail. FAST TRACK lost ground, became unbalanced, shifted out and caused inconvenience to GOOD TO GREAT which as a result was checked. LUCKY GUYS, which was following GOOD TO GREAT, was checked in consequence. Throughout the race, CROWNED GEM travelled wide and without cover and on straightening was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of MILLION CHASE. Near the 400 Metres, FAST TRACK was awkwardly placed inside the heels of MUTUAL GAIN. The performance of FINANCIAL KID, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FINANCIAL KID will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, W C Marwing (OKEYDOKEY), 5th placegetter, explained over the concluding stages his mount was stopping quickly, at this time got its head on the side and was inclined to shift out and because of this he was disadvantaged in riding his mount out. W C Marwing was told whilst the Stewards accepted the horse was stopping quickly and shifting ground in the run to the line, he should nonetheless continue to ride his mount out right to the post wherever possible. OKEYDOKEY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of OKEYDOKEY after the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY WINNING and SILLY BOY were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 12 June 2006)
OKEYDOKEY which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. OKEYDOKEY was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D E Ferraris yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be "jarred up" with a stiff and restricted action. Before being allowed to race again, OKEYDOKEY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
