Racing Incident Report

After leaving the Parade Ring and before entering the track, LUCKY LEGEND proved very difficult to manage and on three occasions dislodged S K Sit, its rider. LUCKY LEGEND was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY LEGEND will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and also a pre-race parade test. After this race, S K Sit was examined by the Club's doctor who said in his opinion Jockey Sit was fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. SUPER GOAL MASTER began awkwardly and lost ground. JOYFUL WORLD began awkwardly and stumbled. AMAZING CHOICE and ARISTOCRACY were slow to begin. Near the 1000 Metres, LUCKYME became unbalanced. Making the Home Turn, PEARL OF INDIA hung out. Also making the Home Turn, HAPPY MASTER was carried wider by PROPELLOR which shifted to the outside of BRIGHT AND GAY into clear running. For some distance after straightening, MASTER DREAMER was held up and unable to improve between AMAZING CHOICE and ARISTOCRACY. Passing the 200 Metres, MASTER DREAMER was steadied when crowded for room between AMAZING CHOICE which shifted in slightly and SUPER GOAL MASTER (S Dye) which at this time shifted to the outside of WINNING CAT into clear running. S Dye was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Near the 150 Metres, AMAZING CHOICE was steadied when awkwardly placed between ARISTOCRACY and SUPER GOAL MASTER. Over the concluding stages, ARISTOCRACY raced tight inside RICH FOR ALL. In the Straight, LUCKYME hung in. HAPPY MASTER, BRIGHT AND GAY and CELESTIAL WONDER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY MASTER after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, BRIGHT AND GAY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had a dynamic pharyngeal collapse. Also after the race, CELESTIAL WONDER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed the horse to have an epiglottic entrapment and an intermittent displacement of the soft palate. Before being allowed to race again, BRIGHT AND GAY and CELESTIAL WONDER will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LUCKYME, SUPER GOAL MASTER and PEARL OF INDIA were sent for sampling.
