Racing Incident Report
Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
| 8 | JUDY'S GREAT (J016) | Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 12 | SMART FOLKS (D343) | Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event as it was being ridden along to hold a forward position. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 4 | FLYING DRAGON (E360) | After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that with FLYING DRAGON up in distance to 1200 Metres, he was expected to hold a more forward position than at its last start. |
| 1 | EURO ROCKS (H153) | Jumped awkwardly, got its head up and as a result lost ground. |
| 10 | SPEEDY SMARTIE (H108) | For some distance near the 100 Metres was directed to the outside of JUDY’S GREAT to secure clear running. |
| 9 | PANDA LEGEND (H002) | Jumped only fairly and was crowded shortly after the start. |
| 6 | FAST BUCK (H126) | No report. |
| 3 | EVERYONE'S VICTORY (E177) | From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded between DAN ATTACK and SMILING COLLECTOR. After the 300 Metres was steadied to avoid DAN ATTACK (A Atzeni) which shifted out before being corrected by its rider. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care. |
| 7 | SMILING COLLECTOR (G128) | Bumped at the start. |
| 2 | GREENWICH (H328) | After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount did not appreciate racing in behind the lead after the pace steadied mid-race and has performed best when being able to dictate in front in its races. Trainer P C Ng agreed with the views expressed by Jockey Purton and stated that the horse was disadvantaged when the pace of the event steadied in the middle stages and was unable to quicken when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GREENWICH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race. |
| 11 | DAN ATTACK (H317) | Slow to begin. Making the turn near the 700 Metres ran out across the heels of EURO ROCKS and as a result was checked. After the race, A Atzeni stated that when he had concerns there may be something amiss with his mount in the Home Straight, he eased it down over the final 150 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. The performance and racing manners were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DAN ATTACK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
| 5 | SPARKLING DOLPHIN (C332) | A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SPARKLING DOLPHIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. |
