8 THE PERFECT MATCH (J253) Sent for sampling post-race.
1 TELECOM SPEED (G259) Sent for sampling post-race.
12 FALCON COURT (J056) On jumping was crowded by HIGH PERCENTAGE which shifted in.
11 TEAM HAPPY (J218) Near the 500 Metres was steadied away from GOLDEN LUCK.
10 SUPER SIXTY (J071) Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped BROTHER CHENG. When questioned regarding his mount leading, C Y Ho stated that the intention was to hold a forward position. He said SUPER SIXTY jumped awkwardly and as a result he rode his mount along to comply with the instructions. He added in the early stages when his mount received some crowding and bumped with TOGEPI, it commenced to race keenly and as a result he allowed SUPER SIXTY to stride forward and lead.
3 GOLDEN LUCK (H159) Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters. For some distance after the 600 Metres raced tight to the inside of BEAUTY DESTINY.
6 GOLDEN LINK (D222) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
9 WOOD ON FIRE (C460) Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded between GOLDEN LINK and GOLDEN LUCK which shifted out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 HIGH PERCENTAGE (G413) Shifted in on jumping and was bumped. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running on the Home Turn. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, HIGH PERCENTAGE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 TOGEPI (G458) Leaving the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded.
5 BROTHER CHENG (J046) Bumped at the start. Approaching the turn passing the 1100 Metres BROTHER CHENG, which was racing keenly, was steadied when crowded between TEAM HAPPY which raced tight to the outside of TELECOM SPEED and SUPER SIXTY which, after improving to the inside of TOGEPI, was then crowded by that runner due to TOGEPI racing tight to the inside of GOLDEN LUCK (L Hewitson). Whilst the Stewards accepted that GOLDEN LUCK lay in during this incident and Jockey Hewitson had made some attempt to prevent his mount from shifting in, he was advised that in similar circumstances he should exercise more care and make a greater effort to prevent his mounts from shifting in. BROTHER CHENG was noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. Before being allowed to race again, BROTHER CHENG will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
7 BEAUTY DESTINY (H281) When caught very wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward where it took a position outside the lead after the 800 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils and was also displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY DESTINY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
