Racing Incident Report

1 4 HAPPY FAT CAT (G166) For some distance near the 100 Metres was taken wider by YOUTHFUL SPIRITS which shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 12 KYRUS DRAGON (H396) Jumped only fairly. When questioned regarding his riding near the 300 Metres, A Badel stated that he wore two sets of googles during the race due to the kickback from the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. He said as KYRUS DRAGON settled back in the field his vision became impaired due to the kickback and after the 300 Metres he was obliged to lower his goggles to ensure he had clear vision in the Home Straight. He added he was able to complete this process quickly whilst continuing to encourage KYRUS DRAGON forward. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 1 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) Jumped awkwardly and then from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
4 5 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) Shifted out under pressure near the 100 Metres. When questioned, L Ferraris stated that with his mount stepping up from the 1000 Metres to the 1200 Metres tonight, he had expected to lead the event. He said YOUTHFUL SPIRITS was able to hold the front without being pressured to do so and making the first turn he endeavoured to restrain his mount to set a more sustainable pace, however, YOUTHFUL SPIRITS raced with an awkward head carriage and did not respond to his efforts. He added in the middle stages he allowed his mount to travel comfortably, particularly in circumstances where YOUTHFUL SPIRITS had had throat surgery and had he continued to restrain his mount, this may have affected the horse’s ability to finish the race off.
5 6 RIGHTEOUS ARION (H059) No report.
6 3 LADY'S CHOICE (H155) Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. Shifted out approaching the 1100 Metres and was bumped. After the race, K Teetan advised that the horse, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley tonight, was not comfortable racing around the Happy Valley circuit. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race. <6/6/2024 Additional Veterinary Reports>LADY’S CHOICE, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. LADY’S CHOICE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C W Chang this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, LADY’S CHOICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
7 9 JOY COMING (H149) No report.
8 2 WATCH BUDDY (H185) Shortly after the start was crowded by LADY’S CHOICE which shifted in.
9 10 TELECOM SPEED (G259) Raced wide and without cover until near the 750 Metres.
10 11 KING ECCELLENTE (G264) Was left racing wide and without cover from the 750 Metres.
11 7 LUCKY ARCHANGEL (E385) No report.
12 8 ACT OF FAITH (H082) Approaching the 1100 Metres was bumped by LADY’S CHOICE which shifted out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ACT OF FAITH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
