Racing Incident Report
| Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
10 | SUPER JOY N FUN (J164) | Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between DRAGON FOUR SEAS and GIANT LEAP. On returning back to the unsaddling stalls A Badel was dislodged but sustained no apparent injury in the incident. Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
6 | KEMPES (J265) | Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 200 Metres shifted out and bumped THE REVOLUTION. Sent for sampling post-race.
7 | FUN N FUN TOGETHER (J232) | Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
4 | MUST GO (J133) | No report.
1 | WONDER KIT (G455) | Leaving the 500 Metres was bumped and taken wider by LUCY IN THE SKY which shifted out to improve.
5 | GIANT LEAP (J143) | Bumped shortly after the start.
8 | GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) | M Chadwick reported that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to hold a forward position. He said when unable to cross runners to his inside GOOD LUCK BABE was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 | LUCY IN THE SKY (J275) | Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by FUN N FUN TOGETHER which shifted in. Leaving the 500 Metres shifted out and made contact with WONDER KIT.
11 | FATAL BLOW (J484) | Lay out on the Home Turn. When questioned L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to go forward. He said his mount was unsettled in the starting gates and for this reason jumped only fairly. He said when GOOD LUCK BABE and MUST GO, which were drawn next to him, jumped better than his mount he elected to ride FATAL BLOW in a conservative manner in the early stages to avoid covering additional ground. He added in the Home Straight his mount finished the race off only fairly and, in his opinion, would be better suited by returning to the turf and being stepped up in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 | THE REVOLUTION (K092) | Leaving the 200 Metres was hampered and taken wider when bumped by KEMPES which shifted out.
9 | CAMP LAND (K510) | The performance of CAMP LAND, which finished tailed out on the second occasion in recent starts, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CAMP LAND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
2 | DRAGON FOUR SEAS (J317) | On jumping became unbalanced when crowded between SUPER JOY N FUN and WONDER KIT which shifted out. H Bowman reported that his mount, which was having its first race start on the All Weather surface, resented the kickback and did not travel throughout the event. He added that entering the Home Straight when not in a competitive position he discontinued in riding his mount out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DRAGON FOUR SEAS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DRAGON FOUR SEAS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
