Racing Incident Report
On the way to the Start, TOYMARK made contact with a rail. On arrival at the barriers, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. KIWI STAR jumped badly, bumped the outside of its gate and threw its head about. On jumping, BELLAGIO was inconvenienced by FORTUNE DANCER which momentarily shifted out. After the 600 Metres, FORTUNE DANCER was steadied when awkward on the heels of GOLDEN DUKE. Just before straightening, RAINBOW AND GOLD brushed the rail when tight inside FORTUNE DANCER. After the 200 Metres, BILLION DELIGHT, which was finishing off strongly, was awkward on the heels of TOYMARK. Throughout the race, GOLDEN DUKE hung in. W M Lai (CUPID) was reprimanded for failing to present himself at scale following the race.
