Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, it was noted the tongue tie fitted to LUCKY CORDELIA had loosened. This was refitted prior to the horse being loaded. With the intention of being ridden quietly from its wide draw, WIKI WIKI began awkwardly and was then taken back across behind runners to a position on the rail but at the rear. LOTZATOW was a little slow to begin, shifted in and brushed the hindquarters of SUPER FANTASY. MEATH was slow to muster speed. KING OF WIN began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed and got well back. In the early part of the Straight, LUCKY CHAMPION was shifted out in an endeavour to find clear running. Near the 300 Metres, LUCKY CORDELIA was steadied when crowded for room between SILVER SUN and LOTZATOW which shifted out after being bumped by TIRAMISU which in turn shifted out after being bumped by PEARL OF INDIA which after being held up shifted out abruptly when being eased to the outside of UPBEAT. In the opinion of the Stewards, the occurrence was accidental. No action was taken. When LUCKY CORDELIA steadied, LUCKY CHAMPION, which was following, was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of that horse. After the 50 Metres, PEARL OF INDIA was awkwardly placed inside the heels of LOTZATOW and because of this was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. BRILLIANT FLASH was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BRILLIANT FLASH after the race did not show any significant findings. LOTZATOW and MASTER SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
