Racing Incident Report

LUCKY DIAMOND and LEADER were slow to begin. SMART VIETKONG was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was crowded for room between CHOSEN ONE and KAO AND MING, both of which shifted ground. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, SMART VIETKONG was momentarily crowded for room inside CHOSEN ONE which got its head on the side and shifted in. Near the 900 Metres, AMBITION got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY DIAMOND. After the 800 Metres, WIN HUNTER was steadied away from the heels of GREAT IDEA which at this time had been steadied to obtain a position behind EVEREST. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, TELECOM PRINCESS, which had been racing wide and without cover, hung out badly and shifted wider on the track. The performance of TELECOM PRINCESS was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, TELECOM PRINCESS will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Prior to straightening, CHOSEN ONE was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of LUCKY DIAMOND. After the 200 Metres, when improving between HEALTHY FRUITS and LEADER, LUCKY DIAMOND raced greenly and near the 100 Metres was struck over the nose by the whip of O Doleuze (HEALTHY FRUITS). TELECOM PRINCESS and WIN HUNTER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TELECOM PRINCESS after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, WIN HUNTER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, WIN HUNTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LUCKY DIAMOND, CHAMPION WINNER and LEADER were sent for sampling.
