Racing Incident Report

SMART CHAMPION began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. Shortly after the start, RAIN IN SPRING and ENRICHING were crowded for room between GLOBE RIVER and SUPERB which on jumping shifted out. Near the 900 Metres, TAIJI SPIRIT and LUCKY PACKET were crowded for room inside GLOBE RIVER which got its head on the side and shifted in momentarily. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, TAIJI SPIRIT was crowded for room inside LUCKY PACKET. Shortly after this, LUCKY PACKET was steadied away from the heels of SUPERB. Near the 500 Metres, SMART CHAMPION blundered. After the 300 Metres, SUPERB, which was commencing to give ground, became unbalanced when bumped between GLOBE RIVER which shifted in slightly and TAIJI SPIRIT which shifted out. Throughout the race, SPEED FIGHTER raced wide and without cover. Also throughout the race, ALL CHANCES hung out and making the turns hung out badly. R Fradd (DR HAENSLER) said the horse relaxed better than usual in the run today and travelled comfortably until entering the Home Straight. He said when he asked DR HAENSLER to improve it did not respond to his riding and was most disappointing. He added after the race when returning to scales he felt DR HAENSLER was sore in front. DR HAENSLER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, DR HAENSLER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was restricted in its hind limb action. Before being allowed to race again, DR HAENSLER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TAIJI SPIRIT and ENRICHING were sent for sampling.
