Racing Incident Report

WINNING POWER was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING POWER will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. GOLDEN FARM, which got its head up just prior to the gates opening, was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, GREAT IDEA and WINNING REWARD were crowded for room between SUCCESSOR and ROYAL DECREE, both of which shifted ground. At the 900 Metres, PROFIT HILL got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of PEARL OF INDIA. After the 800 Metres, PROFIT HILL was checked when crowded for room between WINNING REWARD and PEARL OF INDIA which shifted in slightly when failing to hold its position despite being ridden along. No action was taken. In the middle stages, BACCHUS hung out and making the Home Turn hung out badly. O Doleuze (WINNING POWER), which performed poorly, said at no stage of today's race did the horse handle the soft track conditions. He said despite being ridden along WINNING POWER failed to respond and was not comfortable. WINNING POWER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of WINNING POWER after the race did not show any significant findings. D Whyte (PEARL OF INDIA) said his mount began well and travelled satisfactorily until near the 800 Metres. He said making the turn at the 800 Metres PEARL OF INDIA commenced to give ground and became unbalanced. He said after this PEARL OF INDIA did not stride out as he thought it should and in his opinion the horse failed to handle today's soft track conditions. PEARL OF INDIA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PEARL OF INDIA after the race did not show any significant findings. GENKI KING and ROYAL DECREE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported PROFIT HILL had sustained a laceration to the right hind gaskin.
