Racing Incident Report
GIFT, SHANGHAI LAD and JOYFUL WINNER were slow to begin. THE KING began awkwardly and hung out making the Home Turn. At the 300 Metres, ENGINEERING WONDER, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of DAVE'S BEST which shifted out. Throughout the race, FIRST AMONG EQUALS raced wide and without cover. D Whyte (JOYFUL WINNER), which performed poorly, reported his mount did not handle today's soft track conditions. CIRCUIT KINGDOM was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, CIRCUIT KINGDOM was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CIRCUIT KINGDOM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HONEY MONEY, THE KING and FIRST AMONG EQUALS were sent for sampling.
