Racing Incident Report
AWARD began awkwardly and from the outside barrier was then taken across behind runners. AMSTERDAM was slow to begin. GALLANT FALCON shifted in at the start and bumped FLORAL NIRVANA. QUEST FOR LOVE began awkwardly. Approaching the 1000 Metres, WEALTHY TREASURE got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of MIRACULOUS. Near the 400 Metres, WEALTHY TREASURE was hampered when awkwardly placed between NOBLE CONQUEROR and MIRACULOUS which shifted out. QUEST FOR LOVE, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. Approaching the 200 Metres, BEST POWER was momentarily steadied away from the heels of WEALTHY TREASURE which was tiring. Passing the 200 Metres, FLORAL NIRVANA and GALLANT FALCON were both steadied when crowded for room between CRYSTAL which when weakening shifted in slightly and WEALTHY TREASURE which was taken out slightly by QUEST FOR LOVE which got its head on the side and shifted out. No action was taken. Y T Cheng (CRYSTAL) stated he was instructed to ensure he obtained cover which he felt would be in about a midfield position. He said these instructions were similar to those which he was issued with at CRYSTAL's most recent start. He stated accordingly in the early stages he attempted to shift in to a position behind SOLAR POWER, however, FLORAL NIRVANA improved to his inside and for this reason he was unable to shift in and obtain cover as instructed. He added passing the 800 Metres he commenced to go forward on CRYSTAL in an attempt to obtain a position close to the rail, however, he was able to do so and consequently travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. WEALTHY TREASURE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WEALTHY TREASURE after the race did not show any significant findings. NOBLE CONQUEROR and SOLAR POWER were sent for sampling.
