Racing Incident Report

On jumping, TRIUMPHANT UNICORN blundered badly, causing K S Yu, its rider, to become unbalanced. As a consequence, TRIUMPHANT UNICORN lost considerable ground, then trailed the field throughout and finished tailed out. The performance of TRIUMPHANT UNICORN was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TRIUMPHANT UNICORN will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. In the early stages, HELENE BRILLIANT proved difficult to settle. Also in the early stages, GUNG HO, which had been intended to be ridden quietly, proved difficult to settle and travelled without cover throughout. After the 400 Metres, YOUNG HERO, which was commencing to make ground, was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside GALLANT LION which at this time shifted to the inside of CANNONISE after being held up for running itself. After this, GALLANT LION continued to be held up and unable to obtain clear running until after the 200 Metres. Over the final 200 Metres, GO JOHNNY GO hung in. For the majority of the Home Straight, CANNONISE was held up and unable to obtain clear running and because of this was not properly tested. In the Straight, GUNG HO hung in and proved difficult to ride. TRIUMPHANT UNICORN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TRIUMPHANT UNICORN after the race did not show any significant findings. ELEGANT WIN, HELENE BRILLIANT and FIRM OFFER were sent for sampling.
