Racing Incident Report
EMERGING was slow to begin.
From a wide barrier, HELENE WISDOM STAR was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
BEAUTY MISSION was held up for clear running making the Home Turn and near the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of HELENE WISDOM STAR to continue into clear running.
Near the 300 Metres, LIFELINE VISION was shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped with AMAZING BOY.
Inside the 300 Metres, RELIABLE PROFIT lay in towards BABY and was steadied.
Near the 250 Metres, EMERGING went amiss and was eased down by its rider. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that EMERGING had sustained an injury to its left hind leg.
When questioned, Trainer C Fownes (M UNICORN) advised that as M UNICORN had disappointed the stable at its most recent starts, he elected to step the horse up in distance and instructed M Dee to take up a more forward position as he felt this would be an advantageous position racing on the C course tonight.
After the race, Z Purton (HAPPY FOR ALL) stated that from the outside barrier he was obliged to race back in the field and his mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Straight although he was still satisfied with its performance. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY FOR ALL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, M Chadwick (BEAUTY MISSION) reported that after bumping with HELENE WISDOM STAR at the start, he then settled towards the rear of the field in the early stages. He said his intention was to hold a forward position, but with the early pace of the event being run quicker than standard, BEAUTY MISSION settled further back in the field than what had been anticipated. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY MISSION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Following the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that NUNCHUKS was lame in its left hind leg with an injury to its left hind fetlock. Before being allowed to race again, NUNCHUKS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
LIFELINE VISION, LONDON LUCKYSTAR and AMAZING BOY were sent for sampling. Samples were also taken from EMERGING.
