Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
2 SKY JEWELLERY (K032) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 SOUTH STAR (K153) Jumped only fairly. Near the 700 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from YEE CHEONG RAIDER. SOUTH STAR then continued to race keenly in the middle stages and lay out. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 HAROLD WIN (J280) No report.
7 LUCKY SAM GOR (K114) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 300 Metres was held up when disappointed for clear running between GALE SAGA and SKY JEWELLERY. LUCKY SAM GOR was then shifted to the outside of SKY JEWELLERY to obtain clear running near the 250 Metres.
5 CALIFORNIA BLITZ (J370) No report.
1 NEVER TOO SOON (E434) Bumped at the start. After the 900 Metres became unbalanced when buffeted for room between JOLLY RULER and SOUTH STAR, both of which shifted ground slightly. For some distance after the 700 Metres raced in restricted room between JOLLY RULER and SOUTH STAR which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider when racing keenly.
10 SUPER CONTENTED (H251) Near the 900 Metres became unbalanced when it shifted away from the running rail. Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Approaching the 150 Metres raced tight between YEE CHEONG RAIDER and CALIFORNIA BLITZ when both runners shifted ground slightly and as a result could not be fully ridden out until passing the 100 Metres.
9 GALE SAGA (J152) Bumped at the start. Approaching the 1100 Metres improved to the inside of PEARL OF PANG’S when racing keenly and as a result was then checked when PEARL OF PANG’S shifted in slightly.
14 YEE CHEONG RAIDER (J176) Bumped at the start. After the 400 Metres endeavoured to obtain clear running between SHINE BRIGHT and HAROLD WIN where there was not sufficient room, resulting in YEE CHEONG RAIDER being held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres. Again near the 150 Metres YEE CHEONG RAIDER had some difficulty obtaining clear running. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that YEE CHEONG RAIDER had bled from both nostrils. Before being allowed to race again, YEE CHEONG RAIDER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
4 JOLLY RULER (E346) After the event, R Kingscote stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and after making contact with NEVER TOO SOON near the 800 Metres did not travel well thereafter before giving ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 SHINKANSEN (H277) Jumped only fairly. In the middle stages raced keenly. Held up for clear running between the 500 Metres and the 400 Metres.
11 SHINE BRIGHT (H385) Bumped at the start. After the event, B Thompson stated that the instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages from its wide barrier. He said after SHINE BRIGHT jumped well he was obliged to allow it to continue forward to avoid racing wide which resulted in SHINE BRIGHT unexpectedly leading the event.
6 CELESTIAL PATCH (K151) Shortly after the start was steadied when racing in restricted room between GALE SAGA and PEARL OF PANG’S, both of which shifted ground slightly. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1100 Metres was steadied away from NEVER TOO SOON. Near the 200 Metres, when racing greenly, was steadied and shifted to the inside of SHINKANSEN to obtain clear running and blundered shortly after.
12 PEARL OF PANG'S (J447) Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
