9 | COOL BLUE (H011) | Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by YIU CHEUNG VICTORY which shifted in. Between the 350 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running. Lay out when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 | CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059) | Approaching the winning post could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to the heels of ON THE LASH.
1 | YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) | Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Near the 350 Metres was accidentally struck across its head by the whip of J Orman, rider of SMASHING EXPRESS. Approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 | GOLD TACK (H106) | No report.
7 | SMASHING EXPRESS (J252) | Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 550 Metres was shifted to the outside of CELESTIAL HARMONY to improve and made contact with SMART BEAUTY. In the early stages of the Home Straight lay in, resulting in its rider J Orman changing his whip through to his right hand near the 350 Metres. J Orman was reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 350 Metres.
11 | MR ALADDIN (H386) | Jumped only fairly. Approaching the 150 Metres made contact with PHANTOM CYCLONE due to both runners shifting ground. Near the 100 Metres was hampered when taken wider by STRONGEST BOY.
8 | GO GO GO (H196) | For some distance near the 600 Metres was steadied when held up behind SMASHING EXPRESS.
13 | STRONGEST BOY (H027) | Jumped only fairly and then was steadied and blundered badly when crowded between CELESTIAL HARMONY and PHANTOM CYCLONE which shifted out and away from FUNG. When questioned M Chadwick stated that his mount raced keenly in the early stages and was steadied to avoid GO GO GO near the 1000 Metres. He said near the 900 Metres his mount became unbalanced when crowded for room by PHANTOM CYCLONE. The Stewards were satisfied that C L Chau, rider of PHANTOM CYCLONE, had made sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in and away from SMART BEAUTY. M Chadwick added that after this incident STRONGEST BOY did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 | PHANTOM CYCLONE (J271) | Shifted out at the start and was bumped. Near the 350 Metres was steadied when unable to improve between GOLD TACK which shifted in slightly and STRONGEST BOY which shifted out. Approaching the 150 Metres made contact with MR ALADDIN due to both runners shifting ground.
4 | GOLDEN FAIRY (E448) | Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
3 | SMART BEAUTY (G477) | Bumped near the 550 Metres. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
12 | FUNG (J101) | The performance of FUNG, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FUNG will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
