6 12 SUNDAY DELIGHT (CC225) M Zahra -- Began fairly from wide draw and steadily eased to a rearward position closer to rail. Switched to widest on straightening and made up little ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
7 11 BEST EVER (CB050) W Smith SR Jumped fairly from wide draw and was soon eased to the tail closer to rail. Became detached in the middle stages. Recovered some lost ground at home bend. Made up little ground inside final 150 M.
8 10 FABULOUS (CA152) W Woods -- Slow to begin and raced in a rearward position on rail. Ridden along and made little headway rounding the home turn. Unable to sustain effort in straight and kept on evenly to the line.
9 3 HIGH SPIRITS (BT233) F Coetzee TT Unable to muster early speed to race in midfield or better 3-wide. Ridden along to maintain position at home bend. One-paced in straight and further weakened inside final 100 M. (Lame left front leg next day.)
10 1 STOIC (BT155) P Payne -- Raced in midfield wide without cover in the early stages. Near the 1300 M went forward to race outside the leader. Under pressure at home bend to hold position. No extra in straight and steadily faded inside final 150 M.
11 9 THE RICH MAN (BS130) W M Lai P-/B2 Broke fairly from wide draw and raced in better than midfield 2-wide. Had trouble holding position at home turn. Steadily dropped out inside final 200 M.
12 8 WAIALAE WIN (CB012) R Fradd B Soon raced in midfield 2-wide. Gave ground steadily from 600 M out and failed to make any impression in straight.
