He said his mount jumped awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin and was then hampered by MR ALADDIN which was taken out. He added as a consequence WAH MAY WAI WAI settled further back in the field than intended. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

7 6 MR ALADDIN (H386) 5 H Bentley Kicked a rail before entering the track. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by ROMANTIC FANTASY which shifted out and away from LEATHER MASTER. H Bentley reported that in the Home Straight when placed under pressure his mount was one-paced and did not respond strongly to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
1 7 SUPER HONG KONG (D241) 7 K Teetan K Teetan was fined $5,000 for using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on two occasions in the Home Straight. Sent for sampling post-race.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Apprentice E C W Wong stated that in the early stages his mount hung in and proved difficult to ride.
3 4 HAPPY HORSE (H061) 4 P N Wong (-7) Shifted out at the start, made contact with SANTORINI and became unbalanced. Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection against ORIENTAL SURPRISE and SPEEDY SMARTIE. When the Stewards found that over the concluding stages ORIENTAL SURPRISE shifted in and away from SPEEDY SMARTIE and ALWAYS MY FOLKS shifted out slightly which resulted in HAPPY HORSE being tightened for room between those two runners they could not be satisfied that there were sufficient grounds to lodge a protest/objection and on that basis weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. C L Chau, rider of SPEEDY SMARTIE, was advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear.
8 5 SANTORINI (J076) 5 M L Yeung On jumping was crowded between ORIENTAL SURPRISE and HAPPY HORSE, both of which shifted ground. Approaching the 800 Metres shifted in abruptly when being shifted behind HAPPY HORSE. Making the turn near the 600 Metres lay in and made contact with the running rail.
10 6 DRAGON SUNRISE (J269) 2 K De Melo Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by MODEST GENTLEMAN which shifted in slightly. Near the 600 Metres became unbalanced when crowded by EVER SMART which shifted in when racing keenly.

Over the concluding stages shifted in and away from SPEEDY SMARTIE after being taken in by that runner, resulting in ORIENTAL SURPRISE making contact with HAPPY HORSE and racing tight between HAPPY HORSE and SPEEDY SMARTIE. As a consequence HAPPY TANGO was then shifted to the inside of SANTORINI and behind CAMP FIRE and could not be ridden out over the final 100 Metres.

7 12 EVER SMART (J179) 7 H Doyle In the early stages raced keenly and near the 600 Metres when being crossed by HAPPY TANGO (Y L Chung) got its head up, shifted in and crowded DRAGON SUNRISE. Y L Chung was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground. Near the 200 Metres shifted in and was bumped. H Doyle stated that the instructions were to go forward. She said after her mount jumped only fairly and then was crowded by DIVINE MOONLIGHT it settled further back in the field than intended.

He said after pushing his mount soon after the start it did not show sufficient pace to go forward and as a result he elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner, particularly as it was carrying the top weight of 135 lbs. He added that GLORY B hung out throughout the event and as a result shifted out in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

9 12 SHOTGUN (K111) 4 K Teetan Shortly after the start was eased when crowded between GOLDEN BRILLIANT and NEVER SETTLE, both of which shifted ground slightly. Approaching the 1000 Metres lay in and away from BASIC INSTINCT and made contact with GOLDEN BRILLIANT. K Teetan reported that approaching the 250 Metres when endeavouring to shift to the outside of BASIC INSTINCT his mount, which was hanging in, did not respond to his efforts to shift out and as a result blundered when positioned close to the heels of BASIC INSTINCT. SHOTGUN continued to hang in in the Home Straight.

He said after riding his mount along in the early stages he was caught wide and for this reason he elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner to obtain a position with cover. 3 6 ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) 1 A Badel After being crossed by CORLEONE near the 1200 Metres raced keenly for some distance thereafter.
12 7 GASTRONOMIQUE (K388) 8 K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start. In the early stages got its head up when being steadied away from CORLEONE. Near the 1500 Metres GASTRONOMIQUE was then steadied to avoid WISEMAN which shifted in slightly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. The performance of GASTRONOMIQUE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GASTRONOMIQUE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 8 LIGHTNING ARROW (K360) 11 H Doyle Jumped only fairly and then was bumped shortly after the start. After being shifted to the inside of ABSOLUTE HONOUR near the 100 Metres then raced greenly to the winning post.
5 9 CONSPIRACY WITNESS (J541) 3 L Ferraris Shifted in on jumping and made contact with the starting gates. Shortly afterwards was then steadied when crowded by ABSOLUTE HONOUR which shifted out. L Ferraris reported that in this incident his right foot slipped in the stirrup and as a consequence he repositioned his foot into the stirrup near the 1500 Metres. He added that CONSPIRACY WITNESS did not travel well throughout the event and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. Trainer D A Hayes advised that the horse had pleased him leading into tonight’s race and, in his opinion, appeared to race "flat”. He added he would now consider applying sheepskin cheek pieces to the horse for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 10 VIVACIOUS WIN (K223) 7 B Avdulla Shortly after the start bumped with GASTRONOMIQUE. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind CONSPIRACY WITNESS when that runner was being shifted out to obtain clear running.

Both Jockeys Doyle and Chadwick were reprimanded. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. 12 3 THE REVOLUTION (K092) 1 L Ferraris L Ferraris reported that in the middle stages his mount raced keenly and refused to settle. He said as a consequence it was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, THE REVOLUTION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

4 11 NEWBORN MIRACLE (J477) 5 M Chadwick H Doyle (RUN RUN SMART) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that making the first turn near the 1000 Metres she allowed her mount to shift in when not clear of LUNAR DASH, resulting in LUNAR DASH being taken in across the running of NEWBORN MIRACLE which was checked and further resulting in NEWBORN MIRACLE being carried in onto TOP TO SKY, causing TOP TO SKY to be taken across the running of PRIDE BELIEVER which was checked, resulting in PRIDE BELIEVER becoming unbalanced and a short distance later shifted in across the running of YEE CHEONG SPIRIT which was also checked. H Doyle was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 19 November 2025 at Happy Valley. In addition, she was fined the sum of $60,000. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered her excellent race riding record.

12 1 KINGDOM OF RICHES (K079) 9 E C W Wong (-5) When questioned Apprentice E C W Wong stated that prior to the start being effected he looked behind to seek assistance from the starting gate handler and shortly after, the start was effected which resulted in him becoming badly unbalanced and KINGDOM OF RICHES jumping awkwardly. Apprentice Wong was reminded of his obligations under Rule 103 to report any occurrence in a race that may affect the performance of his horse. When questioned regarding his riding and in particular the fast early pace set, Apprentice Wong stated that whilst he was aware that the pace of the event was inside of standard time his mount was racing too keenly and despite his efforts to set a more sustainable pace KINGDOM OF RICHES did not respond to his efforts to do so. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of KINGDOM OF RICHES, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KINGDOM OF RICHES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

10 4 BRIGHT MORTAR (K333) 1 H Bentley After improving to the inside of KINGDOM OF RICHES near the 300 Metres was then steadied when crowded by KINGDOM OF RICHES which shifted in when giving ground.
11 5 CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131) 12 Y L Chung (-2) Jumped only fairly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 400 Metres CALIFORNIA MOXIE (Y L Chung) endeavoured to improve to the inside of BRIGHT MORTAR when there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in CALIFORNIA MOXIE being checked away from BRIGHT MORTAR. After the 300 Metres CALIFORNIA MOXIE, which had improved to the inside of BRIGHT MORTAR, was then checked when BRIGHT MORTAR was carried in by KINGDOM OF RICHES (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when giving ground. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. Jockey Chung was advised that he should ensure there is sufficient room for him to improve when taking runs. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained an abrasion to the left front leg.
7 6 CELTIC TIMES (G230) 3 K Teetan Making the Home Turn was hampered and carried wider by YOUNG FIGHTER which hung out.
4 7 FORTUNE STAR (K003) 10 L Ferraris From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. On a number of occasions passing the 100 Metres made contact with SUNDAY’S SERENADE due to both runners shifting ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 8 YOUNG FIGHTER (K464) 11 R Kingscote When questioned R Kingscote stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to take up a forward position. He said in the early stages he was obliged to make use of his mount to cross runners to his inside and when caught in a three wide position he continued to ride his mount forward near the 1500 Metres to encourage KINGDOM OF RICHES to cross to the rail. He said as a consequence the pace of the event in the early stages was quicker than he had anticipated. He added that making the Home Turn his mount hung out and as a result ran wide on the turn. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued.

7 SIGHT HAPPY (J261) K Teetan Was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and found to be lame in the right hind leg. Acting on veterinary advice that the SIGHT HAPPY was not suitable to race, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, SIGHT HAPPY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

He said in the early stages when a number of runners showed intent to hold an on-pace position and he was caught wide he elected to obtain a trailing position behind IVY LEAGUE. He added when IVY LEAGUE was able to continue forward to obtain a position behind the leader near the 1200 Metres, LOVERO was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.

1.

After the running of Race 4, the track classification was officially changed from "Good” to "Good to Firm”. This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective. As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 4 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm”.
