Racing Incident Report
SPEEDY FORWARD was initially presented in the Parade Ring without its tongue tie. The explanation given for this error by Mr W L Wong, Trainer of the horse, was accepted. On the way to the gates, SWEET VICTORY made contact with a rail. After arriving at the Start, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who also discussed the matter with C Brown. The Veterinary Surgeon then decided SWEET VICTORY was suitable to race. After being boxed, POWER HOUSE became fractious and reared and it had its near front leg over the adjoining partition. Acting on veterinary advice, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before racing again, POWER HOUSE will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial (stalls test). SWEET VICTORY and DANCING SURPASS were slowly away. In the early stages, JADE LAKE hung in and later in the race hung out. D Whyte said he was quite concerned with the action of the horse over the concluding stages and in the Straight he eased it out of the race. The performance of JADE LAKE was considered to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subject to an official veterinary examination. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, SINCERE AND FAITH hung out. MR BRINKER and STORM BOY were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
