Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, SMART MONEY bounded in the air, shifted in and lost a lot of ground. A RUN OF LUCK left the gates awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of DEREK'S CHOICE, then in the early stages proved very difficult to settle and threw its head about. Before the 200 Metres, A RUN OF LUCK shifted out to go forward and at about the 200 Metres shifted to the inside of LANDLORD to continue going forward. About the 500 Metres, DEREK'S CHOICE endeavoured to shift out and go forward, in doing so made contact with CHATER JADE. For some time after this, DEREK'S CHOICE raced tight inside CHATER JADE and awkward on the heels of LANDLORD. Then to obtain running on straightening, DEREK'S CHOICE was shifted to the outside of CHATER JADE. Just on straightening, D'OR WIN and LANDLORD bumped. In the early part of the Straight, CHATER JADE shifted in momentarily and brushed LANDLORD. Throughout the race, WILFUL FLIGHT hung in. D Whyte (WILFUL FLIGHT) reported during the race the horse was making abnormal breathing noises. Before being allowed to race again, WILFUL FLIGHT will be subject to an official veterinary examination.
