Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, PLATINUM EXPRESS became fractious and dislodged S King. PLATINUM EXPRESS was released from the gates, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and it was then decided PLATINUM EXPRESS was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, PLATINUM EXPRESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial (stalls test). JUMBO LUCK jumped awkwardly and shifted out. In the early stages, BOLD VICTORY, which was racing wide and without any cover, hung out. About the 500 Metres, SPEEDY FORWARD was checked when crowded between TRY YOUR BEST and POWER HOUSE which when weakening hung out from behind PLATINUM EXPRESS. In view of the circumstances, no action was taken. Also about the 500 Metres, WINNING TOUCH was unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BOLD VICTORY and tight inside PLATINUM EXPRESS. In the run to the winning post, CHAMPION RANGER shifted out towards WINNING TOUCH. J Egan (SPEEDY FORWARD) said after being checked near the 500 Metres the horse was reluctant to stretch out and over the concluding stages was very disappointing. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that POWER HOUSE had sustained multiple abrasions to its near hind pastern. He also said after the race when he examined SPEEDY FORWARD, the horse was showing signs of having a heart irregularity. Before being allowed to race again, SPEEDY FORWARD will be required to pass an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
