Racing Incident Report

LUCKY LAD was withdrawn on 8.11.01 on veterinary grounds (coughing due to respiratory infection) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter FAT CHOY TREASURE. Before racing again, LUCKY LAD will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. GALICO left the gates awkwardly, bumped the inside of its stall and just after breaking was checked when crowded between FLYING BISHOP which shifted out slightly and KOWLOON'S BLESSING which got its head up and shifted in away from PRECISION. The crowding to GALICO was of some significance but in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. Near the 900 Metres, PERFECT FUN got its head on the side and shifted out across the heels of FAT CHOY TREASURE, this caused some inconvenience to FLYING BISHOP. In the run to the winning post, FAT CHOY TREASURE shifted out. As a consequence, at about the 200 Metres, G Mossé momentarily stopped riding and changed his whip. Approaching the winning post, PRECISION shifted out towards PLENTY OF LUCK. Because of this, D Whyte put his whip away and rode to the line hands and heels. PRECISION was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
