Racing Incident Report

On jumping, LUCKY KING was crowded for room between TURF LUCK and FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, both of which shifted ground. BOLD'N POWER was a little slow to begin. On jumping, from a gate towards the outside, GOODWOOD was taken back and shifted in to a position near the rail. Approaching the 800 Metres, COGITO was momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of SHERDIL which shifted in when barely clear. At the 800 Metres, after bumping with TURF LUCK, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY was reluctant to hold its position between that horse and SHERDIL. Prior to straightening, CULLINAN was bumped and carried wider by BOLD'N POWER which itself was carried out by COGITO. Rounding the Home Turn and in the Straight, HYDROGEN POWER hung out and at about the 100 Metres was carried wider by LUCKY KING which when improving on its inside shifted ground. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, GOODWOOD was held up and unable to obtain clear running. To obtain running, GOODWOOD was steadied and shifted in. COGITO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing. After the race, it was reported that COGITO was bleeding from both nostrils. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that when he examined FOR YOUR EYES ONLY after the race, it was distressed and uncoordinated. He added FOR YOUR EYES ONLY had blood in its mouth due to a broken tooth. Before being permitted to race again, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and must pass an official veterinary examination.
