Racing Incident Report

FIBBER was slowly away. Rounding the Home Turn, RARE hung out away from THE DUKE. As a consequence of this, THUNDER STORM was taken out onto FANTASY. On straightening, FIBBER was steadied when tightened between GREEN VACATION and SERIOUS PLAY which shifted abruptly to the inside of SEASONS TREASURE. About the 300 Metres, SERIOUS PLAY became unbalanced and shifted ground when disappointed for running inside DESERT STORM and after the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of DESERT STORM to find running and go forward. K S Yu (LOYAL DEVOTION) said the first up run of the horse was disappointing and on that occasion he had ridden it around midfield or a little further forward. He said LOYAL DEVOTION proved very difficult to settle on that occasion and did not finish off at all. Today the intention was to again try and ride the horse about midfield, but to ensure it was settled. He said in the early stages LOYAL DEVOTION was proving somewhat difficult for him to manage amongst runners and he therefore elected to steady the horse to a rearward position where he was able to follow FERRULE. He said when away from other horses, LOYAL DEVOTION did settle better and closed the race off quite strongly. The explanations submitted by K S Yu were accepted. FERRULE and THE DUKE were sent for sampling.
