Racing Incident Report

Before being presented in the Parade Ring, GREELEY JUNIOR had an adjustment made to its left front plate. G Schofield (ZINEDINE) was fined $2,000 for initially weighing out without a girth. This necessitated G Schofield having to be reweighed. GREELEY JUNIOR jumped awkwardly, bumped the inside of its starting stall and just after the start bumped the hindquarters of SUPER BEST. Then in the Straight, GREELEY JUNIOR was inclined to get its head up and lay out. LOMBARD left the gates very awkwardly with its head up, shifted out abruptly and bumped the hindquarters of ZINEDINE. Rounding the Home Turn, WINNING LAURELS, which was awkwardly placed between NO COMPETITOR and ZINEDINE, was momentarily unbalanced. Just before straightening, ZINEDINE was awkward on the hindquarters of SUPER BEST. Then on straightening, ZINEDINE shifted out abruptly. In the Straight, ZINEDINE had a tendency to lay in. Because of this, just after straightening G Schofield stopped riding and changed his whip hand. Throughout the race, SUPER BEST hung in. GREELEY JUNIOR, ETERNAL START and GOLDEN STRIDE were sent for sampling.
