Racing Incident Report
SIGHT FIRST began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped EXULTATION. RISING WIN was slow to begin, then shifted out across the heels of THE RICH MAN. TOUCH DOWN was slow to begin. From the outside gate, ALWAYS ZIETEN was immediately steadied and shifted across behind other runners to a position close to the fence. From a gate towards the outside, CITI CENTRE was obliged to race wide and without cover throughout. In the early stages, SPEEDING MOLLY proved difficult to settle. At the 800 Metres, RICARDO blundered. After the 400 Metres, RISING WIN and SPEEDING MOLLY made contact on several occasions when racing tight between EXULTATION and CITI CENTRE. The Stewards adjourned inquiries into incidents which occurred between SPEEDING MOLLY and RISING WIN approaching and passing the 200 Metres to a date to be fixed. After the 200 Metres, THE RICH MAN, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of RICARDO which was shifting out to find clear running. Just prior to the winning post, RISING WIN was bumped by RICARDO which continued to shift out. In the Straight, TOP OF THE CROWN hung in. CITI CENTRE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of CITI CENTRE after the race did not reveal any significant abnormalities. RICARDO and EXULTATION were sent for sampling.
