Racing Incident Report

During the preliminary, S Drowne was dislodged from FREEBIRD. The horse galloped a short distance back to the winning post before being re-caught. FREEBIRD was returned to the Start and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. HIGH SKY was slow to begin. ABLE WIN began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped LUCKY STALLION. EVER SUCCESS began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. After the 1300 Metres, ELEPHANT DANCE was bumped by CHINOOK which shifted in. This caused some inconvenience to GREENMORE which was racing to the inside of ELEPHANT DANCE. At the 600 Metres, EVER SUCCESS and TRICCOLO bumped. Near the 500 Metres, FREEBIRD was carried wider when SUNNY RIVIERA shifted to the outside of ABLE WIN to improve. Making the Home Turn, GREENMORE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ELEPHANT DANCE. On straightening, SUNNY RIVIERA was carried wider by ABLE WIN. Near the 100 Metres, ABLE WIN shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of TRICCOLO which was giving ground. At about the 50 Metres, D Boeuf (EVER SUCCESS) dropped his whip. Just prior to the winning post, CHINOOK was steadied when crowded for room between FIGHTING MASCOT and EVER SUCCESS which shifted out. No action was taken. SUNNY RIVIERA, FIGHTING MASCOT and EVER SUCCESS were sent for sampling.
