Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, PEAK POWER bounded in the air and lost ground. On jumping, TOP PRIZE got its head up and then was steadied when crowded for room between SHANGHAI KING and SILENT PARTNER, both of which shifted ground. Near the 1300 Metres, MOMENTUM got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SONGS OF PRAISE. Making the turn at the 1200 Metres, ASALI had its head on the side and hung out, at the 1100 Metres was momentarily steadied away from the heels of DYNAMIC FUN, then near the 1000 Meters shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of DYNAMIC FUN. Near the 1000 Metres, PEAK POWER blundered and almost fell after clipping the heels of MOMENTUM which steadied off the heels of SERIOUS PLAY. TOP PRIZE, which was following, was checked and shifted out. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. Entering the Back Straight, ASALI, which was proving difficult to settle, shifted out from behind REWARD and bumped DYNAMIC FUN, causing that horse to become unbalanced and shift wider. After this DYNAMIC FUN was steadied and shifted back to a position behind REWARD and on the rail. At the 200 Metres, SHANGHAI KING was steadied and shifted to the outside of the heels of SPRINTER which was shifting in. Over the concluding stages, MOMENTUM hung in. Also over the concluding stages, SERIOUS PLAY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ASALI. Because of this, SERIOUS PLAY was not ridden out to the line as it normally would be. Close to the line, ASALI, which was giving ground, shifted in to be racing close to the heels of MAGIC HANDS. Because of this, ASALI was not ridden out to the end of the race. DYNAMIC FUN and MAGIC HANDS were sent for sampling.
