Racing Incident Report
SAINT THOMAS and RICH DRAGON were slow to begin. EXPECTATIONS began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, RICH DRAGON was checked when reluctant to hold its position inside FIRM OFFER which itself was steadied away from the heels of EXPECTATIONS. Prior to straightening, CLASSIC NAVIGATOR and ABLE CHOICE bumped. From shortly after straightening until near the 250 Metres, MY CHOICE was held up and unable to improve inside GENERAL KINGY. Approaching the 200 Metres, EVERY TIME was shifted to the outside of OUR JET in an endeavour to obtain clear running, then for some distance raced in restricted room between OUR JET and ABLE CHOICE. C Soumillon (CLASSIC NAVIGATOR) explained from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in midfield with cover and then at the 400 Metres he was to shift the horse into clear running to have it close the race off. He said after beginning well he obtained a position in the run behind OUR JET, travelled satisfactorily until straightening and at the 400 Metres shifted into clear running, however, CLASSIC NAVIGATOR did not close the race off as he would have liked. NOBLE CRUSADER and MY CHOICE were sent for sampling.
